SOLIDWORKS CAM Professional expands on the abilities of SOLIDWORKS CAM Standard. In addition to all of the 2.5- and 3-axis capabilities, an upgrade to SOLIDWORKS CAM Professional will include assembly mode, 4/5-axis indexing, volumill, turning and more.

Automatic Feature Recognition
Feature recognition capability with over 20 types of features on SOLIDWORKS part models, reducing programming time by as much as 90% compared to traditional CAM software.
Knowledge-Based Machining
Capture and reuse programmers’ best practices, reducing programming time by as much as 80% and provide a database to store employee knowledge.
2.5 Axis Milling
2.5-axis programing that includes milling operations such as Roughing, Finishing, Face Milling, Thread milling and single point (Drilling, Boring, Reaming, & Tapping) cycles.
CAM Configurations
Speed up programing time for family parts by Leveraging on SOLIDWORKS configurations to propagate program across all family parts. Simplify file management by programming multiple operations for different CNC machines in one file.
Assembly Machining
Run multiple parts in one program. Import programs from part files to the assembly to streamline production and use fixture avoidance to produce collision free programs.
2.5 Axis Premium
Program 3D contoured surfaces using an Area Clearance roughing operation, and Z-Level and Flat Area finishing operations.
Tolerance Based Machining

Turning
Program 2 axis CNC lathe quickly and easily using Automatic Feature Recognition to find face, OD & ID features, grooves and cutoffs. Use Knowledge-Based Machining to intelligently adjust strategies based on stock material, regardless of bar or tube stock, feature type and part size.
